Progress Of Mural at FUCHUN PRIMARY

Its been 3 weeks since we started our mural project at Fuchun Primary. We can see that my group had made progress throughout the 3 weeks there. However, there have been some complication while we were there. We had to face problems like not getting the right tone and shades of purple and as a result, it slowed down our progress. The colours that were given to us we more of pastels colours and it looks very pale. We really hope that the school is able to provide more colours for the project. With more vibrant colours, we are able to make the walls look dynamic and beautiful....

This is one of my self practice work while im at home. I used mixed mediums like colour pencil and crayons to make it look realistic. I decided to do a still of apples as it is one of the basics things that we first learn to draw. Well i guess as i grew up, my drawing skills and colouring skills have matured too...

My First Piece of Printmaking Work

These 2 are some of my printmaking art pieces. Handling printmaking was not easy afterall. The mess is definitely part of the issue. Just the thought of cleaning the oil based printmaking paint really turns one off but the experience and the learning process of how it was done was a good one. The outcome too was worth the experience and all the process in getting dirty. Im really glad that i was thought the printmaking skills while i was in Lasalle. It really brodens my horizons in the art knowledge.

Look at this awesome sand sculptures. They look so smooth and stable that u might not even think that it was sand. These are some of the sand sculpures that won during the sand sculpting competetion in America. They sure have what it takes to win. Don't you think so?? The sculpture of the Arabian King is one of my favourites. Well i guess, art may come in any form....

Recently, ive received an email from a friend of mine. Since he knew that my studies is dealing with the arts, he sent me an email which really amazed me. Its an email on chalk drawings on the streets in America. What makes me gawk was the chalk drawings were done on the floor but it looked so 3 dimensional that just by seeing it on an image, really makes me feel as it pops out from the ground.Have a look for yourself and you will know wat i mean......

ESPLANADE >Theaters by the bay<

Isn't this a spectacular view?? This shot was taken from the Esplanade rooftop. It shows the beautiful view of buildings in that area at night time. Esplanade or also known as the Theaters by the bay is an art hub in Singapore. Its was built with a main purpose that Singaporens as well as artists from around the world to practice and also showcase their talents in the art scene. The architecture of the ESPLANADE is built in a shape that it looked like a humongous DURIAN. Well, my personal point of view, its shape was built like a durian was because Singapore is well known among the foreigners that we the locals like to eat durian and durian can be found easily in Singapore even in the middle of the night. Well i guess it have already been made as part of the Singapore culture.......

pAinTinG oF Lasalle_SIA.....

This is a painting of Lasalle's front office rooftop. I chose to paint this view as it was the most outstanding view to me. i tried my best to capture the image and paint it but at the same time , i tried to put in my stle of painting into this project. The colours i used for this paitings are deep and i don't really use many different colurs. This painting is more straightforward and does not have any surrealist movement in it. From this painting, one can see my style of painting and clours that i chose which in some way potrays my character and personality....

"Seeing Nature in Digital Eyes" mY coOL art work...

My first media project was on ADOBE photoshop. We were given the theme "Seeing Nature in Digital Eyes." My project was about a woman trying to get her way out of the urban life and to be in a more green natural space. Her faced might seemed to looked as if she screaming. Her scary face potrays of how afraid she is of having to be living in the urban life forever. Now i know that with Adobe software, im able to make many images which is very surrealistic. Its also helps me in colour sense and the different ideas and images one can have. Thank you ADOBE. Hehhehehheheh......

My Darling Frog Prince....Hehhehehhehehhe

Last semester, my sculpture workshop was on clay. The first few session of the induction was such a bore but when we finally get to do hands on,all our spirits were high and we started getting excited to get our hands on the clay. Our projects was that we were required to do 3 different designs of bowls, a coin box and an animal sculpture. The whole process was so enjoyable although we encountered some difficulties. Not only that, we got dirty too but all that was worth it as the end results was a good one.

This is me.Nurul elma.A student of Lasalle_SIA since July 2007. Im in the foundation year and im taking course in Fine Arts. Art have always been my passion since school days up till now. Arts just lives up my life. Its the best way to kill my boredom and also practice my skills that i never knew i had. For me, i personally believe that whatever i do has a reason behind it and it goes for my art works too.I started doing serious art when i was in secondary school. Back then, my art knowledge was only to a certain level but noe that i had entered Lasalle, i have to admit that now i knew that art is indeed a wide subject. Its not all bou the paintings and drawing but the history of it and the countless effort one had to put in ,in order to create an art piece. And so, this blog is to show the art works that i had done throughout my foundation year in Lasalle_SIA.
